1918 - 1918 – Alfa survives the crisis

Between 1914 and 1918, many of the 800 Dutch breweries disappear due to a lack of the necessary raw materials. Joseph Meens has his own malting plant, allowing him to malt the barley himself, thus overcoming the crisis.
