1991 - 1991 – Controlled growth

In the Financieele Dagblad, director Harry Meens talks about the strategy that makes clear that Alfa must not grow too fast. Although Meens admits that saying no is difficult, he has previously rejected an offer for a lucrative supply contract. ‘’If we had done so, we would have had to double our capacity, but we did not want to. The growth would have been far too fast for us and the risks would have been too great’’. Typically, Meens attaches importance to matters such as family tradition, craftsmanship and quality, which may be pressured due to rapid growth. Source: Financieele Dagblad
