A large oak tree is blocking access to the Alfa Brewery in Schinnen when transporting new, larger beer kettles necessary for the brewery’s expansion. Director Harry Meens consequently decides to buy the house with the garden in which the oak tree is standing to then remove the tree, thus allowing the larger kettles to be transported to the brewery. With the new boilers, production capacity increases from 1.7 liters to 2.2 million liters per year. Source: De Telegraaf
