Premium beer in a premium bottle
A little eye candy never hurt anyone. Drinking beer is an experience and at Alfa Beer we are very aware of that. The inside and the outside of a bottle must complement each other, which is why we have been working hard on a new bottle recently. A bottle, inspired by the eighty-year-old ‘Meens beer bottle’, with personality and with a look that fits our traditionally-brewed beer.
Most people probably don’t even think about why a bottle looks the way it does, but we do! The exterior should reflect what’s inside. Therefore, we started developing a new bottle almost two years ago. A specialized team started to sketch and develop designs based on our wishes and requirements. We are a family brewery with a focus on sustainability and the environment, but we are mainly the brewery of perhaps the most delicious beer in the Netherlands. That includes the most beautiful bottle ever, in our opinion.
The color of the glass, the shape, the labels, the seals and, of course, the cap. Every single aspect needs to complement the other. What’s so special about our new bottle is that our family crest is embossed in it. It is visible and tangible when you take a bottle of Alfa Beer in hand – just as tangible as the craftsmanship our brewing process requires. This is how our new bottle expresses exactly what we want to convey to our drinkers: passion and pride!
We were very enthusiastic about the first designs. As soon as everyone approved, the first prototypes were created, eventually leading up to the final design. It was quite exciting to give a final approval on that, because eight million bottles are still being made this way! Moreover, our bottles are always recycled, guaranteeing that the high-quality glass we use finds a new purpose every time.
