Visit our family brewery in The Netherlands
Do you want to experience for yourself where and how the best beer in the Netherlands is brewed? Come visit our Alfa brewery in Schinnen, in the characteristic, hilly surroundings of South Limburg and experience how our family brewery has remained faithful to the traditions of the authentic brewing process.
This tour is generally spoken in Dutch. If you would like to book an English tour, please contact us beforehand to make a special appointment.
The result of four generations of family tradition nowadays expresses itself through five unique beers: Noble Lager, Powerful Dort, Dark Brown, Autumn Bock and Spring Bock. Experience the refined taste of all our Alfa Beers in our tasting room at the water source where Joseph Meens founded the brewery in 1870. The water from this source has been the ‘magic’ ingredient for all our beers for more than 150 years.
But, of course, it is not just about literal tasting! The brewery visit also lets you taste tradition, the atmosphere and the hospitality that is so typical in Limburg. The tour starts with a cup of coffee or tea and a piece of traditional flan in our tasting room. Prior to the tour in the brewery, you can watch a film in our cinema, showing beautiful historical images about our Alfa Brewery and the current brewing process. In our museum, the history of the old brewery is brought to life with the original, old equipment, the original brewery materials and the first lager keg from 1870!
Brewery Tour
During the tour of the brewery itself, it is only natural to start with a visit to our unique Alfa source. Next, you are taken along the various brewing departments accompanied by an explanation of the brewing process. We explain all of these steps clearly and carefully, so that you can pass it on to anyone who wants to know how brewing at Alfa Bier knows. However, wizards never reveal all of their secrets…
After a journey in history and back to the present, it is time to strengthen not only the spirit but also the body. Naturally, we conclude the tour with a tasting of our delicious Alfa beers and some savory snacks. Finally, all our visitors receive a nice Alfa card to take home.
Accessibility
The brewery visit is accessible to the impaired, with the exception of the tour of the brewery. We welcome everyone at our beautiful location in the heart of South Limburg.

Please do not forget to make a reservation beforehand. You can easily do so on this page. The costs for a brewery visit are €14.95 per person.

Would you like to come with a large group but are the available days and times not suitable? Please contact the brewery by telephone to discuss an alternative date and time. The group must consist of at least 15 people.
