Terms and conditions Brewery visits

The general terms and conditions for visiting the Alfa Brewery apply to all individual visitors and groups. These conditions have been drawn up for both organisational and safety reasons.

Please read them carefully to ensure you can enjoy your visit to the fullest.

Article 1. Booking

  1. Admission to the brewery tour is €18.70 per person. Children aged 0 to 5 may visit free of charge and do not need to be included in the booking. For children aged 6 to 17, admission is €12.95 per person. All visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  2. Bookings for a brewery tour may be made via the website, in the shop, or on-site using a QR code, subject to availability for the next scheduled tour.
  3. You may book as an individual or as part of a group. Please note that the maximum group size is 28 people. The minimum group size is 4 people. If this number is not met, we reserve the right to reschedule your booking in consultation with you.
  4. Online bookings via the website must be paid in advance using the provided online payment form. If you book in the shop or on-site using a QR code, payment must be completed before the start of the tour.
  5. If you wish to make changes to your booking, please contact our office team by phone on +31 (0)46-4432888 or by email at info@alfabier.nl. The office is closed at weekends. For urgent matters, you can reach the Alfa Brouwerijcafé on +31 (0)46-4436112.
  6. Bookings may be cancelled with a full refund or rescheduled free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled visit. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the scheduled date, no refund will be issued.
  7. To book a group of at least 10 people for a date or time not shown on the website, please contact us by phone to discuss the options.
  8. The standard brewery tour is conducted in Dutch. Tours in English or German are available for groups of 10 or more. Please contact our office to schedule the appropriate tour guide. German-language tours take place every Sunday at 3:00 PM.
  9. Alcohol will not be served to anyone under the age of 18. Proof of age may be requested.

Article 2. Organisation

  1. Visitors are responsible for arriving on time. If you are up to 15 minutes late, you may still join the tour. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, participation is unfortunately no longer possible and no refund will be given. Joining a later tour may be possible depending on availability and at the discretion of the guide.
  2. Participation in the Alfa Brewery tour is at your own risk. Parents and guardians are responsible for the behaviour of their children.
  3. For safety reasons, please follow the instructions of our guides at all times and remain with your group.
  4. If you display disruptive behaviour, refuse to follow the house rules, appear to be under the influence of alcohol or pose a risk to the safety of the group, you may be denied access to the brewery and the Alfa Brouwerijcafé.
  5. Consumption of your own food or drink is not permitted. Each tour includes a drink and a small snack. If you have any allergies, please let us know in advance.
  6. Consumption of food (for medical reasons) or of medication is not permitted inside the brewery premises. Please take this into consideration when planning your visit.

Article 3. Accessibility

  1. Open-toed footwear is not permitted.
  2. The Alfa beer tasting room is accessible for people with reduced mobility and for prams. The brewery production areas, however, are not accessible for wheelchair users or prams.
  3. Pets are not permitted in the brewery areas.
  4. Tours are available from Wednesday to Sunday, depending on availability as shown on the calendar on our website.
  5. Brewing activity during the tour cannot be guaranteed. The likelihood of seeing live brewing is greatest on tours from Wednesday to Friday.
  6. On-site parking is available at the Alfa Brewery.

2. Safety regulations Brewery visits

  1. Wearing open-toed footwear is not allowed, as indicated on our website.
  2. Visitors must follow the designated route. Please keep a safe distance from forklifts and delivery vehicles.
  3. Always use the handrail when using stairs.
  4. The brewery grounds and buildings are under CCTV surveillance.
  5. The fireplace may only be operated by authorised personnel.
  6. A short safety briefing and house rules will be given: do not walk around on your own, follow the guide, and stay with your group. If you fail to comply with these rules, you may be asked to leave the tour (see also Article 2).

General terms and conditions Online sales

These general terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law.

These terms and conditions apply to all online sales of products by Meens Bierbrouwerij BV, with its registered office at Thull 15, 6365 AC Schinnen, hereinafter referred to as Alfa Bier. The buyer must confirm acceptance of these terms and conditions before placing an order.

Article 1. Purchase and payment

  1. To place an order via this webshop, the buyer must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. An agreement between Alfa Bier and the buyer is formed once the buyer has accepted and fulfilled the conditions set by Alfa Bier.
  3. Alfa Bier reserves the right to refuse an order or to impose additional conditions, such as in the case of large orders, orders by minors, incomplete order procedures or previous order issues.
  4. Alfa Bier will always confirm the purchase by email. If a confirmation email has not yet been sent, the agreement is not yet in force.
  5. Payment for products purchased via the Alfa Bier webshop must be made using the payment methods provided.
  6. All goods remain the property of the seller until paid for in full.
  7. In the event of late payment, Alfa Bier is entitled to terminate the agreement with immediate effect or to suspend (further) delivery until all payment obligations have been met in full.

Article 2. Delivery and delivery times

  1. Any delivery times stated by Alfa Bier are indicative only. No rights may be derived from these estimates.
  2. The person receiving the delivery must be at least 18 years old. Couriers may ask for proof of identity. If no adult is present to receive the goods, the courier is entitled to refuse delivery and/or attempt redelivery at a later time, but is not obliged to do so.
  3. If the buyer, a co-resident or neighbour is unable to accept the delivery, the buyer may be required to collect the product later (e.g. from a post office). Alfa Bier is not liable if the item is not collected, is received by an unauthorised person, or if a delivery notice was not provided, lost, or damaged in any way.

Article 3. Product information

  1. All information, images, verbal communications, and specifications relating to offers and key product characteristics provided by phone or email are presented as accurately as possible. Alfa Bier accepts no liability for advice given, typographical errors on the website, or technical information supplied by manufacturers or suppliers.
  2. All products offered by Alfa Bier meet legal requirements and may be sold online.

Article 4. Liability

  1. Alfa Bier, its agents and/or third parties shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from or in any way related to the sale of products.
  2. In particular, Alfa Bier, its agents and/or third parties accept no liability for:
    • Any direct or indirect damage, whether visible or resulting from hidden defects, caused by or related to the delivered products, including any damage during shipment.
    • Failures or shortcomings by postal or courier services (e.g. delays, damage, or loss).
    • Any direct or indirect damage resulting from network, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind.
    • Problems or defects arising from use of the website or downloading of any components related to the webshop.

Article 5. Questions and complaints

  1. Complaints or disputes must be submitted within 7 working days of delivery. If a complaint is deemed justified, liability is limited to replacement of the goods. The seller’s liability is limited to the actual amount paid for the order.
  2. Alfa Bier will respond to questions and complaints within a reasonable period of 7 working days.

Article 6. Returns policy

  1. You have the right to cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt. After cancellation, you have a further 14 days to return the product, provided it is unused and in its original packaging.
  2. The original packing slip must be included with the return. Please clearly state the reason for return. You will receive a full refund of the order amount. Please note: this only applies to full order returns, not partial ones.

  4. It is not possible to exchange ordered products for a different size, colour or item. If you wish to receive a different product, please return the original and place a new order.

Privacy policy

Meens Bierbrouwerij BV, hereinafter referred to as Alfa Bier, respects your privacy and complies with all applicable data protection legislation.

Please refer to our full privacy policy for details on how we handle your personal data.

Article 1. Personal data

  1. Alfa Bier may use your personal data to send offers, provide information, etc. You may object to this at any time by contacting Alfa Bier using the details below or by clicking ‘Unsubscribe’ in emails such as newsletters.
  2. If you created an account in our webshop, you can access your data via the ‘My Account’ link at the bottom of each page. You may also request deletion of your data by emailing secretariaat@alfabier.nl.
  3. Your personal data (limited to name and email address) may also be used to send newsletters, via a third-party provider called Mailchimp. Every newsletter includes an option to unsubscribe and view the stored data. Full deletion of your data can be requested by contacting secretariaat@alfabier.nl.
  4. To process webshop orders, we require additional information such as your address. This data is used solely to fulfil your order and to comply with tax and legal obligations.
  5. Only authorised Alfa Bier staff and third parties (e.g. hosting provider, social media agency) have access to your stored personal data. Where appropriate, Alfa Bier has signed data processing agreements with these parties.

Promotional terms and conditions

These promotional terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law.

These promotional conditions apply to all promotions (the “Promotion”) organised by Meens Bierbrouwerij BV, with its registered office at Thull 15, 6365 AC Schinnen, hereinafter referred to as Alfa Bier. By participating in any Promotion, participants agree to these terms and conditions.

Article 1. AlfaCode Promotion

  1. The aim of the Promotion is to reward loyal customers with prizes and/or discounts using the unique code (the AlfaCode) found on Alfa Bier bottle labels, or by participating in an alternative giveaway.
  2. The Promotion has been running since 21 December 2009 and will end on a date to be announced. Alfa Bier may terminate the Promotion unilaterally at any time in accordance with Article 10 of these terms and will publish any such termination on its website (www.alfabier.nl/en/giveaway/).
  3. Questions, comments or complaints regarding this Promotion can be submitted to Alfa Bier customer service via info@alfabier.nl, including your full name and address. Questions, comments or complaints about products, prizes or discounts provided by partners should be directed to those respective partners.
